Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney Together, Y Not

Y Not is the title of Ringo Starr’s new recording which will be released on January 12th, 2010. Ringo has chosen to self-produce Y Not. I am excited that Ringo has taken direct control of his artistic freedom and direction.

How on earth did Starr finally locate the absolutely perfect producer to work with him? “Well, I looked in the mirror,” Ringo says with a smile. “And I was looking real groovy that day.”

The first single “Walk With You” features Paul McCartney singing with Ringo. It will bring a wonderful chill to your senses when you hear them together. Paul McCartney also plays bass on “Peace Dream”.

How cool is this!!!!!!

“Walk With You” is available as a digital download from CD Universe as an MP3 file and can also be purchased on iTunes 😉

According to Ringo Starr,  Starr said McCartney is “gen-i-us” for the way he laid down his vocal track on “Walk With You,” which is described as a “moving, even spiritual meditation about the lasting power of friendship.”

“Paul was doing the Grammys, so he came over to the house and was playing bass on ‘Peace Dream’. So I played him this other track and Paul … went to the mike and he just invented that part where he follows on my vocal. That was all Paul McCartney, and there could be nothing better…. He just makes it bigger and he makes it fuller,” Starr said.

The album,Y Not also features special guest performances by Joe Walsh, Dave Stewart, Benmont Tench, Don Was, Joss Stone, Ben Harper, Glen Ballard and many others.

Peace and Love, Ringo
