Jackie Greene’s Mojo is Rising

Back in 2007, I caught Phil Lesh and Friends one night at Mohegan Sun Casino Arena. The band was totally in their groove that evening. I found myself impressed, by a new musician as part of that group by the name of Jackie Greene.

He possessed a charisma  that carried across his strong sense of music sincerity and mature wisdom. His musicianship on guitar, vocals and piano created quite the buzz. I just knew I would hear more from him as time went past. I flagged his performance in my mind. Periodically I checked in on his Web site and listened to his catalog of music evolving with proud excitement.

Jackie Greene was in my neck of the woods last week. I dawdled when tickets were first announced and you know what they say, he who hesitates is lost, as Jackie Greene sold out his Stage One Fairfield Theatre Company appearance on May 5th, 2011.

My personal thanks to Frederick Matt who has been doing a fantastic job capturing live performances on video at FTC’s Stage One and hosting them on his YouTube Channel. Please visit Frederick Matt’s Channel for the Jackie Greene video library from May 5, 2011. http://www.youtube.com/user/FrederickMatt?feature=uploademail_ch#p/a

I heartily suggest Jackie Greene’s latest two CDs, Giving Up the Ghost and Till the Light Comes. He rocks steady.
