Elton John commences his US and European Tour with a concert this Friday, November 8th in Bridgeport, Ct. at the Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard.

As I prepare the music of our heart to more fully appreciate one of our greatest music legends I turn first to his latest recording, The Diving BoardThe album was written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin and produced in Los Angeles by producer T-Bone Burnett.

This video features Elton John giving a track-by-track breakdown. It is insightful and will add to your listening pleasure of The Diving Board

It seems to be a great year for the big beasts of yesteryear to deliver some of their best work. Elton’s latest is wonderfully varied and a lot of big issues tackled here with his usual skill and panache. Enjoy.

  2. It has been a great year for those classic rockers, Miss Barb. My man, Bob Dylan, released Tempest this year. Some of Tempest songs rank right up there with his best work. T-Bone Burnett is vastly underrated. Among many other works, didn’t he produce the soundtrack for “Oh Brother where Art Thou?” Thanks for your great work!
