Billy Joel’s Thoughts on A Matter Of Trust – The Bridge To Russia

The Russia concert tour from the 1980′s personally cost Billy Joel more than one million dollars. Yet he believed it was important to perform behind the Iron Curtain at a time when relations were strained between Russia and the U.S.

Billy Joel was honest at the Town Hall event on SiriusXM on Monday when he revealed that Columbia pushed for the live album to be released against his wishes. A Matter Of Trust – The Bridge To Russia Legacy release is due to be available on May 19, 2014 .

Billy Joel said he was not satisfied with this recording yet the record company decided to package and distribute it anyway. He doesn’t like how his vocals sound mainly because he was suffering from a sore throat on that tour.

We will have to see how well this recording sells in light of Billy Joel’s opinion about the recording.
