Michael Stipe: The Man Who Sold The World

I was watching the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when I heard Jimmy mention that Michael Stipe would be performing a tribute to David Bowie. I did everything in my power to stay awake for Michael’s performance. I had been missing his soulful voice. I wasn’t disappointed.

It was a great teaser for the The Music of David Bowie tribute concert which sold out in minutes at Carnegie Hall on Thursday March 31st and Friday April 1st. The Friday night concert will be streamed for a suggested donation of $20. Donations benefit various NY City music education programs. A cause near and dear to the music of our heart đŸ™‚

Here is Michael Stipe’s segment. I love how it is just Micheal invoking Bowie set against a solo pianist. Striking. Welcome back, Michael. It’s wonderful to hear you singing from your heart once more.
