According to the Rolling Stones European Fan Club, “Its Only Rock and Roll”…
The Rolling Stones will be releasing a new studio album with blues songs early December 2016 worldwide. The album is featuring cover songs only. The new album is the second in a series of projects including Havana Moon, and that album with its own songs is probably due for a 2017 release.
More details of songs and guest spots will appear on the fan club site soon.

Ever since my college music days some 40+ years ago I have been enamored with musique electronique. Like many musicologists I consider French-born composer, Edgard Varese the Father of Electronic Music. Frank Zappa, Varese’s protegé characterized him best, “The present day composer refuses to die.”
If you study the six degrees of separation between musique electronique, Varese, and Zappa you will juxtapose the French composer Eric Mouquet, founder of the pioneering electro-ethno-ambient band, Deep Forest.
There is peace to experience in the journey through the light and trees in the deep forests of our world. Eric Mouquet navigates those experiences in his travels, treating our senses to those natural settings.
The latest Deep Forest recording, evo devo is an earthly treasure. Mouquet revisits the sounds he and Michel Sanchez first recorded on Deep Forest in 1992 (now out of print). Those are some of the most amazing sonic textures I have ever absorbed. The remixes of some of those original tracks on this album made me smile to hear them once more.
Deep Forest recently held a Pledge Music project which I missed, but I was able to order an autographed copy of evo devo, from the Web page today.
Allow yourself to experience Deep Forest, connecting your spirit with the nature and our world.
I find myself, yet again, happily transported by the art and symbolism of Patti Smith and her talented daughter, Jessie Parris Smith along with the collaborative known as Soundwalk Collective. They give us pause to show how fragile life is in this garden universe.
Killer Road is a sound exploration of the tragic death of Nico, Velvet Underground vocalist and 60s icon, while riding her bike on the island of Ibiza in the summer of 1988. A hypnotic meditation on the idea of perpetual motion and the cycle of life and death, the composition features Patti Smith lending her unique voice to the last poems written by the artist. Soundwalk Collective uses a travel log of field recordings and samples of Nico’s signature instrument, the harmonium, to create a magnetic sound scape.
Killer Road is an ambient sound scape and spoken word tribute to Nico, eight interpretations of her lyrics, predominantly taken from classic albums such as Desertshore and Drama of Exile, arranged by fellow poet and kindred spirit Patti Smith. Originally executed as a live performance piece with Jesse Paris Smith and Soundwalk Collective, Killer Road sees the light of day in album format for the first time in stores, next week, September 2, 2016.

I love everything about this soon to be available album from Willie Nelson. The retro cover is especially appealing as is the warm affection shown to Willie’s friend the late Ray Price.
Vince Gill makes a few appearances on this recording, backing up Nelson on a half-dozen tracks as a member of western swing supergroup the Time Jumpers.
1. “Heartaches by the Number” (featuring the Time Jumpers)
2. “I’ll Be There (If You Ever Want Me)” (featuring the Time Jumpers)
3. “Faded Love”
4. “It Always Will Be”
5. “City Lights” (featuring the Time Jumpers)
6. “Don’t You Ever Get Tired of Hurting Me” (featuring the Time Jumpers)
7. “Make the World Go Away”
8. “I’m Still Not Over You”
9. “Night Life”
10. “Crazy Arms” (featuring the Time Jumpers)
11. “Invitation to the Blues” (featuring the Time Jumpers)
12. “For the Good Times”
Can’t wait to get lost in the sounds and textures of Toto tonight!
Leland Sklar on bass! You betcha.
