Universal Usability – So Cool ;)

I am working on my course project paper for my Capella University graduate course, The Delivery of Distance Education. While compiling research I was referencing the Web Style Guide by Patrick J. Lynch and Sarah Horton and I discovered yet another reference gem by Sarah Horton, Access by Design. I just had to share it with you. πŸ™‚

Can’t wait to blog post and publish with the Apple iPad

I am writing this post from my Apple iPhone as my Apple iPad Wi-Fi + 3g will not be shipping until the end of April. I want to thank the WordPress team for revising their WordPress for iPhone OS App to include iPad support. The iPad will be my publishing tool and I can’t wait to join this exciting phase of the Internet revolution!

The WordPress for iPhone OS blog is here: http://iphone.wordpress.org/blog/

Finding Ada Lovelace Day Post

Ada Lovelace Day is an international day of blogging to celebrate the achievements of women in technology and science.

The woman in history I am honoring today is Dr. Grace Murray Hopper. She accomplished so much as an inventor, a brilliant mathematican and computer programmer. She created the original functional specification and the first complier for COBOL. She was also a Rear Admiral in the U.S. Navy. I learned of Dr. Grace Murray Hopper during my career at Digital Equipment Corporation(DEC), where she was a senior consultant. I started my career as a DIBOL programmer at DEC in 1983. DIBOL is a derivative of COBOL and Dr. Grace Murray Hopper advised the DIBOL product team extensively.

Read more about Dr. Grace Murray Hopper here. We owe her a debt of gratitude for what she accomplished in both her military and data processing career. A powerful woman of great stature.

Thank you Dr. Grace Murray Hopper, I am in your debt as a career professional in information technology.

WordPress Wordcamp NYC 2009 – November 14, Baruch College

Yesterday my wife and I attended WordPress Wordcamp NY City. It was great being a virtual student at Baruch College in the Garmercy Park section of NYC.

Our son attended The School of Visual Arts from 2004-2008. He lived on East 23rd Street and for us it was like coming home again being at Baruch College up the block πŸ˜‰

The event was very well done. My hat is off to Jane, you organized a great day for us. Your hard work truly paid off in what was accomplished. The sessions were excellent. Our favorite session was True/Slant what a cool MU blog are they.

More about WordPress Wordcamp NYC event.

Very eager to hear about WordPress 2.9 which Matt will be unveiling today, what a great community the WordPress crowd is πŸ™‚

Peace,
